We did not see lots of Buffalos although we asked around and tried to find someplace to see a whole herd. This fellow was kept as a tourist attraction at a "trading post" not far from Mesa Verde.






They said to keep our hands out of the pen because this was a really angry example. He was also BIG and clearly very heavy.

Of course, I wouldn't have expected him to be a happy go lucky type, fenced in as he is and all alone except for nutty tourists making faces at him.










We never saw a mountain lion either. Just as well I guess. I took a picture of this one in a glass box at another tourist stop.

This flower I could halfway identify!

It's a paintbrush - but whether it is an "Indian" or a "Wyoming" paintbrush I couldn't tell you.
