Marita writes...
I have been interested in drawing and painting since childhood. I began to paint in oil in 1986 and have since then studied portrait painting,
for Marrta Lundqvist drawing and oil painting, Barbro Ljungdahl, oil and Elsie Wallin, oil.
In the beginning I painted a lot of portraits but when I received a commission for a large apple I felt that this was what I wanted to paint.
By 1998 I was ready to make an attempt at working with my art full time and I started Marita Killian Art. In the fall of 2001 it became possible for me to open my own gallery on Sibyllegatan in Stockholm which I ran until februatry 2009. It was fun but time consuming. I now concentrate more on my real work, painting, and in a freer form.
